To help provide you with a lifetime of satisfaction, here are some tips for how to maintain your new floor. In addition, Tom Adams Windows and Carpets carries a full line of floor care products at all 4 store locations. This selection includes cleaners, spot removers, polish, strippers, mops, swiffers and more.

Carpet

To maintain your carpet, vacuum it regularly. For spots and spills, it is best to take care of them immediately. Blot up liquid spills with a white towel and clean the area with the cleaning agent and procedure appropriate for the type of stain. Do not rub, scrub, or use a brush to clean stains. Hardwood

To prevent scratches in your new hardwood floor make sure to sweep your new floor regularly and use mats or rugs. Hardwood floors with a urethane finish should never be waxed. Instead use cleaners that will not leave a film or residue when cleaning your floor. Do not use ammonia cleaners or oil soaps on a wood floor, as they will dull the finish. Laminate

Laminate floors require little maintenance. To help prevent scratches place mats at entryways. For routine cleaning, use a vacuum, dry dust mop, or damp mop if needed. Never use a wet mop, an abrasive cleanser, wax or polish. If there is a liquid spill, you should clean it immediately. Tile/Stone

To protect your tile from wearing, place protective mats or rugs at entryways. Regularly sweep and mop your tile to get rid of dirt and other substances. If there is a spill, clean it up immediately to avoid grout stains. If you do get a grout stain you should use grout cleaner to clean it.
